Women

“As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.” Col. 2:6-7

The purpose of the Women’s ministry, as an extension of the purpose of the church is “to equip the saints for the work of the ministry” (Eph. 4:11-12). It is our goal then to minister to the needs of the women, equipping them to fulfill God’s plan for their lives. It is our desire through the Women’s Ministry to provide a place and an atmosphere that encourages and promotes spiritual growth in the lives of the women in their love, knowledge and service of our Lord Jesus Christ. We seek to accomplish this through the following avenues:

Bible Study/Fellowship

The women’s study is on the third Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. and again at 7:00 p.m. and runs from September through May. Child-care is provided for the morning session only. The study consists of teaching, discussion groups, (homework questions) and fellowship. Each year our study changes, over the years we have studied: the book of James, Ephesians, 1 Thessalonians, Proverbs, Women of the Bible, and the Attributes of God. During 2008-09, we went through Jerry Bridges book, Pursuing Holiness. All women are welcome, if you are interested in being a part of this study please contact the church office.

Titus Two Tuesdays

We meet at 9:00 a.m. on the first Tuesday morning of each month beginning in September through May. The meetings alternate between Biblical instruction (i.e. loving husbands, training/disciplining children, homemaking, etc.) and practical instruction in homemaking (i.e. cooking, organization, decorating, gardening, etc.). This ministry is especially for younger married women or single moms with children still in the home. Our purpose is to come alongside these mothers with Biblical training, encouragement and support. We want to encourage them to make the necessary time to grow in their walk with God, as He is their source of strength, and to be an example to their children, fulfilling their God given role in the home.

Children are welcome, in fact mothers are encouraged to bring their children. Children ages infant through 3rd grade are cared for by a loving and qualified staff using a curriculum that is sure to keep them occupied and happy. This is a very important aspect of this ministry and we want the time spent with the children as well as the mothers to be fruitful. If you are interested in the Titus Two ministry please contact the church office.
