ChildrenChildren’s Ministry is provided for Nursery through 6th grade. Our goal is to come alongside parents as they seek to raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. On Sunday mornings our ministry to children is a structured, classroom-teaching environment in which they are taught using age appropriate curriculum taking them through the Bible. We believe that children, like adults need to be taught the Word of God. As Paul wrote to Timothy “the Holy Scriptures are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” 2 Tim. 3:15 and “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Rom. 10:17
We use a Bible based, Christ-centered curriculum designed for children ages two through 8th grade.
Sunday Morning Children’s Ministry
Every Sunday, children from 1st through 6th grade will be taught from the same passage of Scripture in a way that is appropriate for their respective age level. We believe this will assist the parents in discussing with their children what they have learned. Over a three-year period we will cover the historical books of the Old Testament, the life of Christ, Acts and Revelation. The Bible lessons are written in a question-and-answer format to insure that the students participate in and understand the lesson. Included in the lesson is: teaching, crafts, selected audio and visual materials, and take home assignments to help him/her remember the lesson.
Children from two years through five years old are taught from the Children Desiring God Curriculum. These 40-week studies purposefully present God as the main character in each lesson, rather than dwelling on man and man’s needs. Therefore, each lesson focuses on the magnificent character of the One who can satisfy all our longings. Showing children the greatness of God gives them a basis to respond to Him. This material presents a great God who is worthy to be admired and imitated.
Calvary Kids Club
On Wednesdays from September through May, we offer Calvary Kids Club for ages two – 6th grade. Calvary Kids Club or cKc is a Bible-based, fun, learning experience for children that teaches them Biblical principles and moral values and how to apply them in their lives. The program involves Bible memorization and application and allows the children opportunity to earn patches and various awards that can be displayed on their “kids club” vest.
Nursery
Our nursery is for infants to two years old. We strive to provide a clean, comfortable and safe environment so that you feel secure in the care that we make available for your child. Our nursery is equipped with age appropriate, sanitized toys. All toys, baby swings and cribs are cleaned and sterilized after each service. Every volunteer worker has completed a thorough application with references.
Nursery care is available at both our Sunday morning services and our Wednesday evening service.
Nursing Mothers
If you are the mother of a newborn or a nursing mother, we invite you to enjoy the worship services in the comfort of our Mother’s room. It is pleasantly furnished with rocking chairs, a changing table, and is equipped with closed circuit television so that you won’t miss the service. For your added convenience we also supply diapers and other changing amenities. Please ask an usher to direct you to our nursing mothers room.
Wellness Policy
In consideration of others and for the safety of everyone in Children’s Ministry we will not receive a child who is ill. If your child is not feeling well, we ask that you do not expose other children or workers by bringing him or her into the Nursery or Children’ Ministry. Our concern is for the health and well being of every child who attends. For that reason sheets are changed, toys, cribs and counters are disinfected after each use. We want to do everything we can to prevent the spread of illness.
